Following on from a couple of REALLY busy weekends, I was looking forward to a quiet one when my Mum got a facebook message:

“Would Zoe like to sing in the streets of Dumfries tomorrow?”

A little bit of an odd request, but it was all part of The Big Burn’s Supper – you can read more about that by following the link, but I got involved by singing (just me and my uke) on a Saturday afternoon to unsuspecting shoppers in the middle of Dumfries.

I was a little unsure at first but ended up having a great time. I started off outside but it was so cold I couldn’t feel my fingers so my Mum, who’s a hero by the way, spoke to the management of the indoor shopping centre and we got permission for me to perform in the warm.

I really enjoyed myself and I got loads of compliments from people of all ages and was even interviewed by a local radio station.

We gave a lift to my talented, musical friend Calum, who was also asked to perform, but he braved the freezing temperatures and stayed outside for about two hours. A huge gold star to Calum.

You should really check out Calum’s facebook page too, he really is very good.

We finished off the day with a bag of chips each and a lovely cup of tea at Calum’s parent’s (Our good friends Cathy & Liam)

So, overall it was a great day, not the quiet one I was expecting, but a wonderful one with some fab memories.
