A couple of weeks ago I filmed my first ever professional music video.  It’s for my first single, 35 Missed Calls which should be released in a few weeks.

And, later on today I’m getting a sneak peak at the finished video. I am really excited.

The filming was a lovely experience although it was VERY cold and sometimes wet, and sometimes extremely muddy. Jessica, the film’s producer had developed a really nice story for the video and it involved me skipping around our local countryside in Wellington boots and a beautiful Victorian style nightgown. But it was so cold that I had to wear a woolly hat and a poncho, diving into my Dad’s big winter coat between takes.

Other shots had me in a different outfit, singing to the camera with my ukulele. Costume changes in a van wasn’t the most pleasant of experiences but I was told ‘you have to suffer for your art’ ha ha.

I can’t wait to see the finished results after Jessica and her partner, Shaun have edited all the bits together. And I can’t wait for you to see it too. If you’re not already subscribed to this blog, make sure you do by entering your email address in the form on this page and you’ll be the first to know when the video’s live.

I’ve got to give a huge thank you to my Mum and Dad for keeping me warm during the filming and carrying all the stuff. They’ve got jobs as roadies when I do my first tour!

And big thanks to Distilled Records and Jessica and Shaun for letting me realise my dreams.
