Next New Song – Listen

Performing for The CatStrand Theatre’s 5th Birthday Celebrations, here’s Zoë singing her latest song, Listen. The headline act for this night was The Peatbog Faeries, who were brilliant and Zoë shared support with our friend, Calum Gilligan.

Another one written for her baritone uke, Luna, Zoë says that this her favourite song to perform… at the moment 😉

As usual, we’d love to hear what you think.

Supporting Finding Albert – September 2012

At the beginning of the month, Zoë was lucky enough to be invited to support Finding Albert, the award-winning Scottish band at one of Zoë’s favourite venues, The CatStrand, New Galloway.

It was a great night, Zoë had a ball and F/A were brilliant as usual.  We urge you to check these guys out, some seriously talented musicians, well crafted songs, great entertainment and nice guys as well.

Follow this link to get to their facebook band page

Zoë made lots of new fans that night, most were new to her music and her CDs were flying off the shelf (Oh, that reminds me, if you’ve not got Zoë’s début single on CD yet then you’d better hurry, there are only a handful left !!)

I managed to video Zoë’s last two numbers from her set and thought you might like to see them. The video features a track from her current CD, Little Secret and one we hope will be on her next release, Butterflies (fingers crossed for a release before Christmas).

Butterflies is played on her new baritone ukulele which, thanks to a facebook poll, has been named Luna. If you’re not already following her on facebook, make sure to “Like” her page – there’s lots going on over there.

Thanks so much for following Zoë’s musical journey and supporting her, I know it’s easy to say but please believe me when I do say that all three of us really, really appreciate it.

A New Ukulele and Another New Song – Butterflies

We promised you some photographs and more video, well we’ve been having major internet problems and we’ve been struggling to upload anything, so we’re very sorry not to have posted stuff up. I hope you’ll understand.

We did however manage to put up a video of Zoë singing her latest song, written on her new baritone ukulele. (It actually took ALL NIGHT to upload this to YouTube!!) We had a great time when we went to Glasgow last week and the venue was absolutely stunning, you’ve just got to watch this video and listen to the amazing natural reverb.

As soon as our Internet is back up to speed, Zoë will post up a full review of the event.

A Brand New Song – San Francisco

This is Zoë’s Dad, Peter, I thought this blog of Zoë’s needed some attention as we’ve not posted very much recently. We aim to remedy that over the coming weeks so you can expect lots of content to be popping up.

Zoë has been extremely busy, with lots of gigs, writing new material and some time spent in the studio. We’ve got a ton of photos and some video we want to share with you so be sure to subscribe so you can find out when all that gets published.

A lot of effort and time is spent on facebook so please make sure you’re following Zoë there too. You can find her page by following this link: Zoë’s facebook page.

In the meantime, here’s a sneak peek of her latest song, San Francisco. This is a live recording and Zoë’s also working on a studio version which may appear on a forthcoming release. Nothing’s decided just yet so you’ll just have to keep watching this space for more details.

We’d love to know what you think of this latest song, so please be sure to leave a comment below.

Thanks.

Singing For My Supper

Following on from a couple of REALLY busy weekends, I was looking forward to a quiet one when my Mum got a facebook message:

“Would Zoe like to sing in the streets of Dumfries tomorrow?”

A little bit of an odd request, but it was all part of The Big Burn’s Supper – you can read more about that by following the link, but I got involved by singing (just me and my uke) on a Saturday afternoon to unsuspecting shoppers in the middle of Dumfries.

I was a little unsure at first but ended up having a great time. I started off outside but it was so cold I couldn’t feel my fingers so my Mum, who’s a hero by the way, spoke to the management of the indoor shopping centre and we got permission for me to perform in the warm.

I really enjoyed myself and I got loads of compliments from people of all ages and was even interviewed by a local radio station.

We gave a lift to my talented, musical friend Calum, who was also asked to perform, but he braved the freezing temperatures and stayed outside for about two hours. A huge gold star to Calum.

You should really check out Calum’s facebook page too, he really is very good.

We finished off the day with a bag of chips each and a lovely cup of tea at Calum’s parent’s (Our good friends Cathy & Liam)

So, overall it was a great day, not the quiet one I was expecting, but a wonderful one with some fab memories.

Zoë x
