Last weekend I had my first ever gig performing my own songs. I’ve sung in front of an audience before but never with my own material. Although I was very nervous, and made the odd little mistake, I think it went really well and I was well pleased.
My Mum and Dad sat in the front row and my Dad videoed it and I put it up on my YouTube channel.

It’s a lovely venue, Faed Gallery at Gatehouse of Fleet Mill and it was part of the Midsummer Music Week, but they hold Mill Sessions every month so well worth checking them out.

Well done on your first gig performing your own work Zoe.
The very fact that you are happy communicating with the audience is a large leap forwards that many performers find difficult. It is apparent that you do not find it difficult to tell the story behind your songs and talking to the audience (even if you are nervous inside). To me, that is a major achievement when performing!
Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing more of your work as time goes by.

Thank you, I was quite nervous and speaking to the audience, I find, is the most hardest thing to do – I get paranoid about what I’m going to say or how I’m going to say it. So that really is a confidence booster, Thank you!
